Experimental studies on the abiotic hydrolysis of 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)propane-1,3-diyl didocosanoate (CAS 68258-72-0) are not available. However, QSAR calculations (HYDROWIN v2.00) indicate, that hydrolysis is a negligible pathway for the fate of the test substance in the environment. Predicted half-lives > 1 year for the constituents of the substance at pH 7 and 212.9 d - 1.2 yr at pH 8 (Müller, 2016).
