STABILITY AND STORAGE CONDITIONS OF TEST MATERIAL
- Storage condition of test material: Room temperature, in the dark - Key result
- Temp.:
- ca. 25 °C
- Vapour pressure:
- ca. 7.4 Pa
- Conclusions:
- Determination of the vapor pressure was performed in accordance to OECD 104 and Method A.4 Vapour Pressure of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008. The vapor pressure of Ethoxy ethoxy ethyl acrylate has been determined to be 7.4 Pa at 25 °C, using the vapor pressure balance method.
- Executive summary:
The vapor pressure of Ethoxy ethoxy ethyl acrylate CAS No. 7328-17-8 has been determined to be 7.4 Pa at 25 °C, using the vapor pressure balance method designed to be compatible with Method A.4 Vapour Pressure of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 104 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 23 March 2006. The Vapor Pressure Balance was not formally validated. However, scheduled calibration checks of system performance were successfully performed confirming the accuracy and validity of the data generated for this study. Ethoxy ethoxy ethyl acrylate was assessed initially as a clear colorless liquid and did not change in appearance under the conditions used in the determination. The results may represent rounded-off values obtained by calculations based on the exact raw data.
Reference
The vapor pressure were measured over a range of temperatures in three separate run and the mean vapor pressure calculated.
Summary of Results:
The values of vapor pressure at 25 °C extrapolated from each graph are summarized in the following table:
Summary of Vapor Pressure:
- Run 1 : Log10 [Vp(25ºC)] = 0.866
- Run 2: Log10 [Vp(25ºC)] = 0.884
- Run 3: Log10 [Vp(25ºC)] = 0.853
- Mean of all 3 run: [Vp(25ºC)] =0.868
- Mean Vapor Pressure of 7.38 Pa.
The Ethoxy ethoxy ethyl acrylated did not change in appearance under the conditions used in the determination.
The results may represent rounded-off values obtained by calculations based on the exact raw data.
Description of key information
Determination of the vapor pressure was performed in accordance to OECD 104 and Method A.4 Vapour Pressure of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008. The vapor pressure of 2-Propenoic acid, 2-(2-ethoxyethoxy)ethylester (Ethoxy ethoxy ethyl acrylate) has been determined to be 7.4 Pa at 25 °C, using the vapor pressure balance method.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Vapour pressure:
- 7.4 Pa
- at the temperature of:
- 25 °C
