Description of key information

The registered substance is hydrolytically stable at any pH (from 2 to 12) and not readily biodegradable. However, according to the key simulation biodegradation test (OECD Guideline 309), rapid disappearance of the registered substance from the sediment water system was observed (DT50 = 0.8 - 0.9 days), corresponding to a primary and ultimate degradation as well as potential chemical hydrolysis. This may be explained by a slight toxicity of the substance to the inoculum observed in the ready biodegradation studies which may have reduced its biodegradation potential at concentrations of test substance required in such studies. The OECD 309 study requires significantly lower test substance concentrations to be used. The substance is therefore ultimately biodegradable and not persistent. As the DT50 value obtained in the simulation biodegradation study is less than 16 days, the substance is considered rapidly degradable for CLP.

With an experimental BCF comprised between 46 and 60, the substance is not bioaccumulable. Finally, the registered substance is slightly mobile in soils with an adsorption coefficient estimated at 2013 L/Kg (log Koc = 3.30).
