Additional information

One non-GLP ready biodegradation test is available for C12-14AS MIPA (CAS 85681-66-9). The study (Z&S, 1998) was performed according to OECD 301D guideline. As inoculum, the activated sludge was used. The biodegradation of the test substance based on the O2 consumption reached 83% after 28 days. The substance can be considered as readily biodegradable.

Moreover, in accordance to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 Annex XI, 1.5, a read-across to another structurally related category member was conducted. Read-across data on C12-14AS Na (CAS 85586-07-8) were used. A GLP study was performed according to OECD guideline 301D (BASF, 1996). Activated, non-adapted domestic sludge was used as inoculum. The biodegradation of C12-14AS Na (CAS 85586-07-8) after 28 days reached >90% (based on O2 consumption).
