Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: VDI- Richtlinie 2263-1 (national standard)
Principles of method if other than guideline:
A sample in a pile form is ignited using a flame and an electrically heated Platinum wire and the burning behaviour was observed.
GLP compliance:
not specified

Test material

Constituent 1
Chemical structure
Reference substance name:
3-methyl-1-p-tolyl-5-pyrazolone
EC Number:
201-708-4
EC Name:
3-methyl-1-p-tolyl-5-pyrazolone
Cas Number:
86-92-0
Molecular formula:
C11H12N2O
IUPAC Name:
3-methyl-1-p-tolyl-5-pyrazolone

Results and discussion

Flammable solids
Test procedure:
burning time (test type not further specified)
Remarks:
or specified in description of method (migrated information)
Remarks on result:
other: Combustability Index: BZ 1 (no ignition). No reaction when an ignition source (flame or hot wire) was applied at ambient temperature. No propagation of the combustion was observed. The product melted. No burning rate had to be determined.

Any other information on results incl. tables

No burning when contacted by a flame or heated platinum wire. Therefore the measurement of the burning rate is technically not feasible and needed.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
non flammable
Remarks:
Migrated information
Conclusions:
No classification as flammable solid
