Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
The dust is irritant.
After inhalation:
Take out the exposed person to the fresh air, if annoyances like cough, dyspnoea go on, seek for medical care.
After skin contact:
Wash skin with warm water and soap.
After eye contact:
Wash out the eye with plenty of clean water 15 min.
After ingestion:
Drink cc 2 dcl lukewarm water, do not induce vomiting.
Fire-fighting measures
Substance is not directly in fire:
Isolate the fire by water screen (e.g.) not to by transferred.
Substance is directly in fire:
Call firemen!
Avoid inhalation of decomposition gases do not stand in a wind direction. During fire extinction use suitable protective masque and during long-term extinction use oxygen respiratory apparatus. During extinction use dashed water flow, or water fog. Assure perfect ventilation.
Extinguishing media which shall not be used for safety reasons : CO2, halon
Dangerous combustion products: SOx, CO2
Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: isolating self-contained breathing apparatus
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions:
Prevent from dusting. Remove spilled product so that it would not get into contact with eyes and skin. Prevent contamination of surface and ground waters.
Environmental precautions:
Prevent surface and underground water contamination according to valid region regulations.
Methods for cleaning-up:
Rake together spilled fertilizer, immediately, brush off it and place in a clear, marked container. Do not allow mixing of fertilizer and scobs and other combustible or organic materials.
Depending on measure and nature of pollution it can be used as a fertilizer in agriculture or dispose it in an authorised way.
Handling and storage
Manipulation:
Avoid abnormal dust formation. Avoid fuel (e.g. petroleum, lubricants etc.) and incompatible materials (straw, wood, etc.) contamination. Avoid useless acting of air humidity to the substance. Use suitable personal protective facilities (gloves) during handling.
Storage: Keep in dry, covered and ventilated storerooms. Keep the storerooms clean and tidy. Prevent the stored material from the access of fire. Avoid useless acting of air humidity to the substance. Keep deposited freely or packed in 25 kg of weight bags and 1 000 kg of weight big-bags.
Manufacturers, importers, sellers or suppliers storing the fertilizer are obliged to:
a) store substance separately and label in a persistent and readable manner,
b) ensure that no mixing with other substance can occur
Keep the packed substance in original, intact and closed packing, in dry, hygienically clean, easily ventilable and confined storerooms, separately from food, drink, feedstuffs, pesticides and their packing. Keep consumer packing separate from pharmaceuticals and disinfectants.
