Description of key information

For LL- and DD-lactide MMAD were 308 and 262 µm, respectively. 1.87 and 2.67 % by volume of sample of LL- and DD-lactide, respectively, was seen to be < 10.00 µm. There is no reason why the particle size distribution of dilactide would differ from that of LL- or DD-lactide.

Additional information

Physico-chemical properties of enantiomers are essentially identical, except for those dependent on a chiral environment (e.g. rotation of plane of polarization of polarized light, i.e. optical activity). See e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enantiomer. Furthermore, LL-, DD- and dilactide are made in the same equipment, following the same process. There is no reason why the particle size distribution of dilactide would differ from that of LL- or DD-lactide. D- and L-lactide are suitable read across partner as dilactide is a mixture of D- and L-lactide isomers.
