Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

- Endpoint:
- density, other
- Remarks:
- density and relative density
- Type of information:
- experimental study
- Adequacy of study:
- key study
- Study period:
- 2009-09-15 to 2009-10-01
- Reliability:
- 2 (reliable with restrictions)
- Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
- study well documented, meets generally accepted scientific principles, acceptable for assessment
- Remarks:
- Raw test data are missing in report.
- Qualifier:
- no guideline followed
- Principles of method if other than guideline:
- The true density of the sample was determined using a helium stereopycnometer. The technique is based on the determination of the true volume that the powder occupies, by means of the difference between the cell volume and the volume that the helium occupies that is introduced to complete the cell filling. True density is calculated by taking into account the mass of the powder used. The cell used for the density determination was the so-called Large cell, withe a volume of 135 cm³.
- GLP compliance:
- not specified
- Type of method:
- air comparison pycnometer (for solids)
- Remarks:
- helium stereopycnometer
- Dynamic viscosity of test material:
- no data - test item is a solid
- Type:
- density
- Density:
- 4.93 g/cm³
- Temp.:
- 20 °C
- Remarks on result:
- other: relative density D20/4= 4.93
- Conclusions:
- The true density is 4.93 +/- 0.02 g/cm³. The relative density D20/4 compared to water at 4 °C is 4.93.
Reference
The true density is 4.93 +/- 0.02 g/cm³. The relative density D204 compared to water at 4 °C is 4.93.
Description of key information
The relative density at 20 °C compared to water at 4 °C is 4.93.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Relative density at 20C:
- 4.93
