First-aid measures

Inhalation
Remove from exposure, lie down. Keep patient warm and at rest. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. Obtain medical attention.

Skin contact
Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water while removing all contaminated clothes and shoes. If skin irritation persists, call a physician. Keep warm. Wash contaminated clothing with plenty of water to prevent fire hazard.

Eye contact
Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Obtain medical attention.

Ingestion
Rinse mouth with plenty of water. Give small amounts of water to drink. Do NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Keep warm. Call a physician immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:
Water, water mist

Extinguishing media which shall not be used for safety reasons:
Dry powder, Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Specific hazards during fire fighting:
Contact with combustible material may cause fire. Explosive when mixed with combustible material. Heating above 110 °C may cause an explosion. Pressure build-up in confined space (risk of decomposition).

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters:
Self-contained breathing apparatus (EN 133) Complete suit protecting against chemicals

Specific methods:
Cool containers / tanks with water spray.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Never return spills in original containers for re-use. Ensure adequate ventilation. Use personal protective equipment. Remove all sources of ignition. Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak.

Environmental precautions
Prevent product from entering drains. Should not be released into the environment.

Methods for cleaning up
Dam up. Very dilute solution can be washed into drains with plenty of water. Contact the proper local authorities. Never return spills in original containers for re-use.

Handling and storage

Handling:
Never return unused material to storage receptacle. Open drum carefully as content may be under pressure. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Keep away from combustible material. Protect from contamination. Do not expose to temperatures above 30 °C.
Avoid exposure. Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas. Wear personal protective equipment.

Storage:
Keep in a cool, well-ventilated place. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Condition of containers should be checked regularly. Store in original container. Store in a container with a safety valve.

Conditions to avoid:
High temperatures. Exposure to light. Protect from contamination.

Materials to avoid:
Combustible material, Flammable materials, Reducing agents, Organic materials, metal chlorides, Bases, Rust, Dirt

Hazardous decomposition products:
Heating releases irritative and acrid gases.

Disposal considerations

Product:
Dispose of as special waste in compliance with local and national regulations. See also: Accidental release measures. Wear personal protective equipment. Diluted aqueous solution can be disposed as waste water, when in compliance with local regulations. Prevent undiluted product from entering drains. Clean container with water. Packages must be disposed of according to local and national regulations. Empty containers/packages must not be used for other purposes.
