Conclusions:
Equilibrium solutions containing 15 % peracetic acid are very soluble in isopropanol, acetone and soluble in ethyl acetate. In more polar solvents the solubility is below 10 g/L.
Executive summary:

Equilibrium solutions containing 15 % peracetic acid are very soluble in isopropanol, acetone and ethyl acetate. In more polar solvents the solubility is less than 10 g/L.

Description of key information

Solubility in
- n-heptane, p-xylene, 1,2-dichloroethane: < 10 g/L
- ethyl acetate: 20 - 25 g/L
- propan-2-ol and acetone: > 500 g/L

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In a study according to CIPAC MT 181 Mekelburger (2007) found that the solubility of peracetic acid (solution containing 15 % peracetic acid) is low in the organic solvents n-heptane, p-xylene, 1,2-dichloroethane (< 10 g/L) and ethyl acetate (20-25 g/L), high solubility was determined in propan-2-ol and acetone (> 500 g/L).
