Description of key information

The decomposition of the test substance C22-trimethylammonium chloride (Oh 05/233) was determined with differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). This experiment also gave information on the melting point. The boiling point was calculated using Syracuse EPIWIN software.
Additional experiments were performed on C20/22-trimethylammonium chloride.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Due to both experiments the DSC and the capillary measurements it is concluded that the test item melted under decomposition in the temperature range of 220 – 240 °C.
