Description of key information

The solubility of C22-trimethylammoniumchlorid (batch: Oh 05/233) in n-Octanol was determined following the OECD guideline 105 and Directive 92/69/EC Method A.6 (guidelines adapted to the purpose of the study) from 2007-02-19 to 2007-02-23 at Dr.U.NOACK-LABORATORIEN, D-31157 Sarstedt, Germany.
The solubility of the test item C22-trimethylammoniumchlorid in n-Octanol was determined using the flask method. The test mixtures were incubated at 30 +- 0.5°C for 72, 48 and 24 hours and the solubility was measured after 24 h at 20 +- 0.5°C.
The method (HPLC, MS/MS-detector, external standard) for the determination of the test item C22-trimethylammoniumchlorid was validated and tested with satisfactory results in regard to linearity, repeatability of injections, limit of quantification, accuracy, precision and specificity.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Solubility in organic solvents at 20°C:
19 700 mg/L

Additional information

The solubility of C22-trimethylammoniumchlorid in n-Octanol at 20°C was determined to be 19.7 g/L
