Description of key information

When tested for skin and eye irritation in the rabbit TAED caused no or only temporarily minimal signs of irritation in all available studies.
TAED did not cause signs of respiratory irritation in the acute inhalation study as well as in the 90d-inhalation study in the rat.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Dermal treatment with TAED caused only temporarily very slight erythema and minimal oedema in very few rabbits, without any relevance for classification. The highest scores for erythema and edema were 1. All signs of irritation had disappeared at the 48 hrs reading the latest.

Testing for eye irritation in the rabbit also resulted only in minimal signs of irritation (conjunctival redness and chemosis, highest score = 1), without any relevance for classification. All signs of irritation had disappeared at the 72 hrs reading the latest.

TAED did not cause any signs of respiratory irritation in the acute inhalation study and in the 90 d-inhalation study in rats.

Justification for classification or non-classification

TAED did not cause any signs of irritation relevant for classification as skin, eye or respiratory irritant in all available studies. Based on these results, TAED is not subject to classification and labelling according to Directive 67/548/EEC and Regulation 1272/2008/EC.
