The test substance may exist as a mixture of isomer structures. This includes only chain isomerism of a hydrocarbon, what means that no functional groups are involved. In such a case similar properties of the isomers can be expected. Epiwin calculations were made with three exemplary isomers [CC(C)C=CCCC, CC(C)=CCCCC and C=CCCCC(C)C].

Since the calculated phototransformation half life ranged between 4.23 hours and 11.67, after evaporation or exposure to the air, the product will be rapidly degraded by photochemical processes.

No data on hydrolysis are available. However, carbon-carbon bonds are too stable (high bond energy) to be cleaved by nucleophilic substitution. Thus, hydrocarbons, including alkenes, are not subject to hydrolysis.
