Additional information

There is one study on fish toxicity available for Sorbitan monolaurate, ethoxylated (CAS No. 9005-64-5).

The key study conducted with for Sorbitan monolaurate, ethoxylated (CAS No. 9005-64-5) was performed as a limit test, according to OECD Guideline 203 and GLP (Teigeler, 2012). The test organism Danio rerio was exposed to the nominal test concentration of 100 mg/L, prepared as water accommodated fractions (WAF). No mortalities were observed at the test concentration, during the 96-hour test period, and a LC50 of > 100 mg/L was reported.

A short summary is available for an additional acute fish study conducted with for Sorbitan monolaurate, ethoxylated (CAS No. 9005-64-5). The study was performed according to a guideline similar to OECD Guideline 203, using Salmo gairdneri as test organism (Brown, 1987). The fis were exposed to test concentrations of 56, 100, 180, 320 and 560 mg/L for 96 hours. Mortality occurred at the two highest concentrations, and an LC50 of 383 mg/L is reported. The documentation is not sufficient to evaluate the reliability of this data.
