Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Vapour pressure (substance): 93 Pa at 20°C
Vapour pressure (silanol hydrolysis product): 0.00025 Pa at 20°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A vapour pressure of 93 Pa at 20°C was determined from a temperature-vapour pressure correlation using measured data

in the range 87 - 179°C. This is taken from a peer-reviewed compilation of data and is selected as key study. A vapour pressure of 114 Pa at 20°C was determined in a reliable study using a temperature-vapour pressure correlation from data measured in the range 85 - 155°C. A study to which reliability could not be assigned gave a vapour pressure of 133 Pa at 20°C.

All results are broadly similar. Variations in the vapour pressure may be caused by differences in the test method and differences in the purity of the test substance.

The substance hydrolyses very rapidly in the presence of water. . The vapour pressure of the silanol hydrolysis product has been predicted to be 0.0002 Pa at 20°C, using a validated QSAR prediction method. The result is considered to be reliable.
