Conclusion on classification

The lowest acute aquatic toxicity (based on the lowest of the available toxicity values) is LC50 (96h) > 16 mg/L for fish. The substance is readily biodegradable and the log Kow is 1.57. Azelaic acid can be concluded as not bioaccumulative (see Chapter 4.3). Azelaic acid is not classified to be hazardous to the aquatic environment according to EC 1272/2008 (self classification).
