Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

viscosity
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2012-04-03 till 2012-10-02
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
reference to same study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: DIN 53019
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Test Guideline 114 (Viscosity of Liquids)
Version / remarks:
(adopted, 12th May 1981)
Deviations:
no
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Viscosity at 20 °C:
For measurement of dynamic viscosity a commercially available rotational viscometer is used. The dynamic viscosity η is determined at 20 °C. The viscosity is determined applying shear rates within the range from 20 s-1 to 100 s-1 .
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
rotational viscometer (dynamic)
Temp.:
20°C
Parameter:
dynamic viscosity (in mPa s)
Value:
231

Result:

Dynamic viscosity at 20 °C: 231.6 mPa*s / 231.3 mPa*s

Mean value: 231 mPa*s

Conclusions:
The dynamic viscosity of the test item was measured at 231 mPa*s at 20 °C.
Executive summary:

The dynamic viscosity of the test item was determined according to DIN 53019 (OECD 114) by means of a rotational viscometer and showed a value of 231 mPa*s at 20 °C.

Description of key information

According to OECD Guideline 114, the dynamic viscosity of the test item was measured at 231 mPa*s at 20 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
