Administrative data

Description of key information

In accordance with Annex VII of REACH, Column 2, no skin sensitisation testing is required since the substance is corrosive to the skin, Category 1B.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available
Additional information:

No studies for skin sensitization are available as the substance is corrosive. In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, an in vivo skin sensitisation study does not need to be conducted as the substance is classified as corrosive to the skin.

Respiratory sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available
Additional information:

Amines,N-C16-22-alkyltrimethylenedi-is a solid with mp of 48°C and a vapour pressure less than 0.0015 Pa at 20°C (value based on read-across from shorter chain C12-14-diamine). Also the use of this substance will not result in aerosols, particles or droplets of an inhalable size, so exposure to humans via the inhalation route and thus risk of respiratory sensitisation will be unlikely to occur.

Justification for classification or non-classification

In accordance with Annex VII of REACH, Column 2, no skin sensitisation testing is required since the substance is corrosive to the skin, Category 1B.
