Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available
Additional information:

The sensitisation assessment of isononyl phosphate is based on read-across data from the structurally related substance 2-ethylhexyl phosphate (CAS 12645-31-7).

An in vivo skin irritation/corrosion study on a related substance gave a corrosive result. In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex VII (8.3), a study has not been conducted as an in vivo skin sensitisation study does not need to be conducted if information indicates the substance should be classified for corrosivity. Therefore, the study has been waived based on the corrosive effects seen in the skin irritation study and classification as Corrosive.

Migrated from Short description of key information:
The substance is corrosive and therefore no skin sensitisation study was performed.

Respiratory sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available

Justification for classification or non-classification

There is no evidence that the substance is a skin sensitiser and therefore the substance is not classified.
