Additional information

No studies investigating the indirect photolysis of Fatty acids, C6-18, 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propanediyl esters (CAS No. 91031-27-5) are available. As this substance is composed of different homologues, phototransformation in air was calculated for the representative components using AOPWIN v1.92 (Blum, 2011). Half-lives of 2.3 - 9.3 hours (24 h day; OH-concentration: 0.5E+06 OH/cm³) were obtained for the different constituents, respectively, indicating rapid degradation by indirect photolysis. However, this is not expected to be a relevant environmental fate process, since the substance is not expected to be present in the atmosphere based on the low estimated vapour pressure (< 0.001 Pa at 20 °C). As this study is not a standard information requirement in REACH and there is no indication from the CSA on the need to investigate further the fate and behaviour of the substance, no further testing is considered necessary.
