Description of key information

A study was conducted to determine the partition coefficient of Terpineol multi by Reverse Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatographic method according to OECD Guideline 117 and in compliance with GLP. Alpha-Terpineol is the main constituent of Terpineol multi and because only one peak could be determined, the partition coefficient, log Pow, of alpha-Terpineol is also 2.6 at 30 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
2.6
at the temperature of:
30 °C

Additional information

In addition to the key study, Griffin et al., (1999) and Li et al. (1998) determined the log Kow of alpha-Terpineol being 3.28 (HPLC) and 2.98 (slow stirring method), respectively. The reliability of these published studies was difficult to assess and therefore the available OECD study is used for risk assessment.
