Description of key information

Partition coefficient of hydroxy(2-methylprop-2-enoato-O)zinc has a log Pow  =  0.17 (arithmetical mean value of 3 QSARS results)

Additional information

It is thus concluded that the test item has a log POW = 0.17 for undissociated form and a log POW= 0.89 for the dissociated form (methacrylic acid)

Three QSARS estimated values for the partition coefficient of hydroxy(2-methylprop-2-enoato-O)zinc (neutral form) were reported and can be considered as consistent :

- The log Pow of hydroxy(2-methylprop-2-enoato-O)zinc was calculated to be -0.12 using Kowwin QSAR; -0.09 using Vcclab QSAR and 0.73 using Vega logP. A mean value can be calculated to give an approximate representative partition coefficient of the hydroxy(2-methylprop-2-enoato-O)zinc

The arithmetical mean value of these 3 results, log Pow = 0.17, will be retained as Key value for chemical assessment .
