Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Waiving according to "column 2" in Annex IX of REGULATION (EC) No 1907/2006. The study need not to be conducted if the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation (for instance a log Pow < 3) and/ or a low potential to cross biological membranes.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The test item is a solid and inorganic substance, which is considered to dissociate into its ionic compounds after dissolution. The water solubility is nearly not detectable in buffered solution at pH 4, 7 and 9 (see chapter 5.1.2) and also in aquatic toxicity tests. The octanol water partition coefficient (Log Pow) for the substance was not determined (see chapter 4.7) but since the substance is an inorganic salt a Log Pow < 3 is expected. Due to the low water solubility in combination with the assumed insolubility in organic solvents and the expected Log Pow < 3 of these inorganic salt a general potential for bioaccumulation is unlikely.

The statement given above fulfills the requirements for waiving as given in 1907/ 2006 EC Annex IX, Column 2, 9.3.2. The study need not to be conducted if the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation (for instance a log Pow < 3) and/ or a low potential to cross biological membranes.
