Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

According to REACH Regulation, Annex VII, 7.8, column 2, a study on partition coefficient n-octanol/water does not need to be conducted if the substance is inorganic. Substance "reaction mass of calcium hydrogen phosphonate and dialuminium tricalcium hexaoxide" is an inorganic crystalline solid of lamellar structure.

Notwithstanding, for running EUSES within the Chesar tool, information on log Pow is needed. As a surrogate approach for assessing the log Pow to run EUSES within the Chesar tool, the value has been estimated. According to appendix 1 of EU method A.8, the value of the partition coefficient can be estimated by the use of the solubilities of the test substance in the pure solvents water and n-octanol. Adequate data for the water solubility are available (0.68 g/L at 20°C). As surrogate value for the solubility in n-octanol, the measured value for solubility in fat (< 0.068 g/kg) is justified, as the log Pow is in general a surrogate value for the partitioning of a substance in water and the lipid fraction of living organisms used in numerous estimation models and algorithms for environmental partitioning, sorption, bioavailability, bioconcentration, bioaccumulation and also human toxicity and ecotoxicity. As result, the log Pow is estimated to be < -1.

Thus, for the sake to fill information on log Pow into Chesar via IUCLID, the value of -1 has been allocated as key value.
