Endpoint:
appearance / physical state / colour
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Guideline:
other: OECD Guideline 110 (Particle Size Distribution / Fibre Length and Diameter Distributions)
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Information taken from a study performed according to OECD Guideline 110 (Particle Size Distribution / Fibre Length and Diameter Distributions) and from a university expert opinion on the composition and crystalline configuration of the reaction mass.
GLP compliance:
yes
Physical state at 20°C and 1013 hPa:
solid
Key result
Form:
solid: crystalline
Remarks:
lamellar, see attached ESEM (Environment Scanning Electron Microscopy) photograph
Colour:
white
Odour:
odourless
Substance type:
inorganic
Conclusions:
odourless white inorganic crystalline solid of clay mineral-like lamellar hydrocalumite-type which has been identified as technically pure calcium-hydroxo-aluminate-phosphonate-hydrate (phosphonate-hydrocalumite)
Executive summary:

Substance "reaction mass of calcium hydrogen phosphonate and dialuminium tricalcium hexaoxide" is an odourless white inorganic crystalline solid of clay mineral-like lamellar hydrocalumite-type which has been identified as technically pure calcium-hydroxo-aluminate-phosphonate-hydrate (phosphonate-hydrocalumite). In a final production step, the phosphonate-hydrocalumite is in-situ coated with fatty acids, C16-18 (CAS No. 67701-03-5, EC No. 266-928-5).
