Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Additional information
Substance "reaction mass of calcium hydrogen phosphonate and dialuminium tricalcium hexaoxide" is an odourless, white, inorganic, crystalline solid of clay mineral-like lamellar hydrocalumite-type which has been identified as technically pure calcium-hydroxo-aluminate-phosphonate-hydrate (phosphonate-hydrocalumite). Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was used to evaluate melting and boiling point. No departure from the base line of the heat flow record was observed that might indicate a melting, boiling or decomposition process while the substance was heated up to and including a temperature of 310°C (583 K). It can be assumed that melting and boiling point are above 310°C. Density of the test substance was measured to be 2.3 g/cm3 at 20°C. Mass Median Aerodynamic Diameter (MMAD) of the total dustiness fraction is 9.9 μm (Geometric Standard Deviation (GSD): 3.6 µm; total dustiness fraction of the substance: 119.32 mg/g (11.93 % of total substance mass)). In accordance with REACH Regulation, Annex VII, 7.5, column 2, a study on vapour pressure does not need to be conducted because of a melting point above 300°C. Furthermore, in accordance with REACH Regulation, Annex VII, 7.8 and 7.9, column 2 and Annex IX, 7.15, column 2, studies on partition coefficient n-octanol/water, flash point and stability in organic solvents and identity of relevant degradation products do not need to be conducted because the substance is inorganic. The water solubility of the substance at 20°C is 0.68 g/L. The solubility of the substance in standard fat HB 307 was determined to be below 6.8 mg/100 g at 37°C. The substance is not surface active. Auto-flammability of substance "reaction mass of calcium hydrogen phosphonate and dialuminium tricalcium hexaoxide" (a.i. 90 %) was measured using a linear increase in temperature of 0.5°C/min starting at room temperature to 400°C. No self ignition of the test substance was observed. Furthermore, the substance was determined to be non flammable and non explosive and not to have oxidising properties. Long-time industrial experience in manufacture and handling shows that the substance is neither pyrophoric nor releases flammable gas in contact with water. As the substance is solid, viscosity is not relevant. The dissociation constant pKa and the pH were determined to be 10.1 and 11.4, respectively.
