Additional information

Oral

In a standard acute test, comparable to OECD guideline 401, five male and five female Wistar rats were treated with 2000 mg/kg bw of the test substance under standardized conditions (BASF AG, 1990). The animals were observed for 14 d, the LD50 was >2000 mg/kg bw for male and female rats. All males survived. No clinical signs were observed, weight gain and gross pathology was unremarkable.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The oral LD50 is > 2000 mg/kg bw for male and female rats. Therefore, chromium trioleat has not to be classified according to EU (67/548/EEC)- and CLP (1272/2008/EC) requirements for this endpoint.
