Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

The test item was tested several times over a temperature range of 60 to 200 °C. It was very viscous which made it harder to determine precisely the melting point. The sample also proved difficult to transfer into the capillary tube due to its viscosity. The melting point of this substance was determined when a bubble was observed and the glass capillary bell was pushed up. No colour change was observed.

The first temperature taken was used as a preliminary scan. The last two temperatures were used for the final test, showing a mean of 129.9 ºC.

Description of key information

129.9 °C at ca. 1013 hPa (OECD 102, EU A.1)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
129.9 °C

Additional information

For the melting point determination, the capillary method was used (melting point device with metal block).
