Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
comparable to guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Justification for type of information:
The studies were perfomred according to OECD guidelines without being conducted under GLP conditions. No detailed information on raw data are provided.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 207 (Earthworm, Acute Toxicity Tests)
Deviations:
not specified
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 222 (Earthworm Reproduction Test (Eisenia fetida/Eisenia andrei))
Deviations:
not specified
GLP compliance:
no
Specific details on test material used for the study:
A 100 µg/mL certified perchlorate standard, granular sodium perchlorate and ammonium perchlorate were used to prepare the perchlorate solutions. All solutions were prepared in Milli-Q reverse osmosis water.
Test organisms (species):
Eisenia fetida
Animal group:

Study type:
laboratory study
Remarks:
acute and long-term tests
Substrate type:
other: the test were conducted on filter, on sand or in artificial soil
Limit test:
no
Test temperature:
22 °C
Details on test conditions:
Mortality was the clinical endpoint examined in the 14-day acute toxicily tests. Mortality was recorded daily during each study. Earthwonns were classified as dead when they did not respond to a gentle mechanical stimulus at the anterior end.
Nominal and measured concentrations:
acute toxicity test, filter paper:
Nominal concentrations: 0, 0.1, 1, 700, 7000, 35000, 70000 µg/mL based on perchlorate anion
