Description of key information

A study was conducted to determine the boiling point of KGA. KGA decomposed before boiling.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The boiling point of KGA (2-Keto-L-gulonic acid anhydrous) was examined using EU Method A.2 and OECD Guideline 103. A sample of the substance was heated up from 25 degrees C to 400 degrees C at a rate of 20 degrees C per minute. Results showed that KGA underwent decomposition before boiling occurred.
