no
Type of method:
ring method
Surface tension:
64.43 mN/m
Temp.:
20 °C
Conc.:
1 g/L
Remarks on result:
other: Due to the fact that the surface tension is higher than 60 mN/m, the test item has no surface-active properties.
Conclusions:
Under the described conditions the aqueous solution of the test item, cobalt bis(2-ethylhexanoate), at 20 °C is sigma = 64.43 mN/m. In conclusion, the test item has no surface-active properties.

Description of key information

Surface tension of cobalt bis(2-ethylhexanoate) (guideline study results): 64.43 mN/m at 20°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
64.43
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:

Additional information

The surface tension of cobalt bis(2-ethylhexanoate) was determined according to OECD guideline 115, ring method. Six measurements at a temperature of 20 +/- 0.5 °C were performed every minute with the test item. Under the described conditions the aqueous solution of the test item, cobalt bis(2-ethylhexanoate), at 20 °C is sigma = 64.43 mN/m. In conclusion, the test item has no surface active properties.
