Additional information

Neodecanoyl chloride was tested in the standard plate test and in the preincubation test with and without metabolic activation in S. typhimurium TA98, TA100, TA1535, TA1537 and E. coli WP2 uvrA at dose levels of 20 -5000 and 4 - 2500 µg/plate, respectively. The study was conducted according to the OECD Guidelines 471 and 472, respectively and is reliable without restrictions. No increase in the number of revertants was detected in any strain with and without MA. Vehicle controls and positive controls were valid. Cytotoxicity was found depending on the strain and metabolic activation. Precipitation was reported.

Short description of key information:
No mutagenic effect of neodecanoyl chloride was observed in bacterial mutagenicity testing to OECD guideline 471.

Endpoint Conclusion: No adverse effect observed (negative)

Justification for classification or non-classification

No classification suggested for mutagenicity as criteria of regulations 67/548/EC and 1272/2008/EC are not met.
