Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A data waiver has been submitted for this data requirement. It is not possible to conduct a test at the substance is hydrolytically unstable and highly insoluble in water. A log Pow value calculated using estimation software on one of the main constituents, from Advanced Chemistry Development Inc., determined the partition coefficient to be log Pow 16.4 ± 0.4 at 25°C.

Additional information

The partition coefficient of one of the main constituents was predicted using calculation software. The prediction was provided as supporting infomration and supports the conclusion that testing for this endpoint is not appropriate. The organophosphite class of compounds, which includes the test material, is known to be hydrolytically unstable. This was experimentally confirmed for the test material during preliminary investigations of a water solubility experiment during which the test material was observed to undergo significant hydrolysis within 4 hours in water at ambient temperature. The hydrolytic instability precluded the performance of the OECD n-octanol/water partition coefficient (Pow) test (OECD Guideline 107). The log Pow of the test material, as well as its hydrolysis products, were subsequently calculated using software developed by Advanced Chemistry Development Inc. The log Pow of the test material was calculated to be 16.4 ± 0.4 at 25°C.
