Conclusions:
SANTICIZER 2148 PLASTICIZER is auto-ignitable, with an auto-ignition temperature of 225°C.
Executive summary:

Samples were injected by means of a variable volumetric pipette to assure a rapid injection. The time lag between injection and ignition was measured for all tests. Approx. 5 mins after each test substances injection, the test vessel was flushed completely with clean air. After flushing, a sufficient time interval was allowed to ensure that the flask temperature was stabilised at the desired test temperature before the next sample was injected.

A preliminary test was carried out, starting at 200°C and testing every 20°C, a flame was observed at 380°C. Going down from 387°C and testing every 5°C, an auto-ignition temperature of 322°C was determined. Main study was carried out, determining the lowest auto-ignition temperature as 258°C, with an injection volume of 150μl and a time lag of 36 s, as the atmospheric pressure varied between 1001.0 and 1004.8 hPa.

SANTICIZER 2148 PLASTICIZER is auto-ignitable, with an auto-ignition temperature of 225°C.

The auto-ignition temperature is the lowest temperature at which the test substance will ignite with mixed with air under the conditions defined in the test method.

Deviations meet the criteria as outlined in the protocol (repeatability<10°C when an auto-ignition temperature <300°C is determined)

Description of key information

Additional information

A key EU Method A.15 study was conducted to determine the auto-ignition temperature of Santicizer 2148 Plasticizer (NOTOX B.V., 1999g).

The auto-ignition temperature of Santicizer 2148 was determined to be 225°C.
