Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

After evaporation or exposure to air, the test item will be rapidly degraded by photochemical processes.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Half-life in air:
9.149 h
Degradation rate constant with OH radicals:
0 cm³ molecule-1 s-1

Additional information

Based on a 24 -h day and an OH-radical concentration of 0.5 E06 OH/cm³, a degradation rate constant of 42.09 E-12 cm³/(molecule*sec) was estimated for cyclopentylamine (CAS 1003 -03 -8) by the EPISUITE model AOP v1.92. Following this, the substance is expected to be photodegraded by OH-radicals with a half-life of 9.149 h or 0.381 d, respectively (BASF, 2013).

Hence, the test substance is expected to be rapidly degraded by photochemical processes after evaporation or exposure to air.
