Conclusions:
FAT 45082/E was concluded to have IC50 (3h) >100 mg/l.
Executive summary:

FAT 45082/D was evaluated for toxicity potential to bacterial population in a study conducted according to methodology that is equivalent to OECD Guideline 209.  The inhibition found at test concentrations of 10, 32 and 100 mg/l were 15.1, 23.6 and 15.1 %, respectively. For the reference substance, the inhibition values recorded were 12.5, 81.1 and 93.5 % at 10, 32 and 100 mg/l, respectively. Based on these findings, FAT 45082/E was concluded to have IC50 (3h) >100 mg/l.

Description of key information

The inhibitory concentration (IC50) in a 3-hour test for FAT 45082 was found to be greater than 100 mg/l. The same value was reported to be >400 mg/l in supporting studies.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
400 mg/L

Additional information

A key study was performed to determine the toxicity of FAT 45082 to micro-organisms.The inhibitory concentration (IC50) in a 3 hour test for FAT 45082 was found to be greater than 100 mg/L.

Other supporting studies were carried out which showed following results:

IC50 (3h): >100 mg/l

BST: >300 mg/l

BST: >400 mg/l

The values from key and supporting studies suggests that FAT 45082 has low toxicity to microorganisms.
