Executive summary:

The water solubility of the test item Rac-Amido-TH-naphthyridin in demineralized water was determined with the flask method at 20 °C according to OECD TG 105.

For the main test, a quantity of the test item necessary for saturation is dissolved in demineralized water. The vessels are stoppered and stirred on a magnetic stirrer for 24 h, 48 h and 72 h at 30 °C in a temperature controlled water bath. Following this procedure, the temperature is reduced to 20 °C and is kept in the temperature controlled water bath for another 24 h.

Since the test item was also floating on the surface of the water and a complete separation by centrifugation could not be guaranteed, the samples were also filtrated with a disposable syringefilter, the concentration of the test item in the aqueous test solutions is determined by HPLC-analysis with UV-detection. The results of both sample treatments were used for determination of the water solubility.

The water solubility of Rac-Amido-TH-naphthyridin at 20 °C was determined as 18.3 mg/L.
