Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Valuation

The test for self-heating capacity in1-L-wire cage showed no temperature rise above the oven temperature even over a prolonged period of almost 2 days.

Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The determination of self-heating properties of Rac-Amido-TH-naphthyridin showed that the substance is not self-heating. No classification according to GHS is needed.
Executive summary:
The self-heating property of Rac-Amido-TH-naphthyridin was determined according to UN method "Bowes-Cameron-Cage-Test" in a drying oven. The test substance was stored in the delivered state in a cube-shaped wire mesh basket (100 mm, volume 1 L) at a constant temperature of 120 °C in a preheated oven for a period of 24 hours. The test for self-heating capacity in 1-L-wire cage over a prolonged period of almost 2 days showed no temperature rise above the oven temperature.

Thus the substance does not have so be classified according to GHS and to the legislation of dangerous goods.

Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the organic substance does not contain metals or metalloids and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Endpoint:
pyrophoric solids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied

Description of key information

a) Self-heating: Rac-Amido-TH-naphthyridin is not self-heating. No classification according to GHS is needed.

b) Pyrophoric properties:Rac-Amido-TH-naphthyridin is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time.

c) Contact with water:Rac-Amido-TH-naphthyridin does not contain metals or metalloids and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied.
