Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No data are available on the acute toxicity of DEA acetate to aquatic invertebrates, but two structurally-related compounds have been subject to 48-hr tests on freshwater Daphnia magna. In each case, the 48-hr EC50 was greater than 100 mg/L.

Additional information

No data were available on DEA acetate, but two reliable guideline studies have been carried out on structurally-related compounds.

Daphnia magna were treated with RA1 in a 48-hr static test. A nominal concentration of 100 mg/L (125 mg/L including 20% water) was tested. No immobilisation or mortalities were seen over the test period. The 48-hr NOEC was 100 mg/L, and the 48-hr EC50 was >100 mg/L (Peither, 1999).

RA2 has been tested in a 48-hr semi-static test on D. magna. Nominal concentrations of up to 100 mg/L were used. No mortalities or toxic effects were observed. The 48-hr NOEC was 100 mg/L and the 48-hr EC50 was >100 mg/L (Grutzner, 1997b).
