Additional information

One study investigating the toxicity of Fatty acids, C18-unsatd., dimers, mixed esters with oleic acid and trimethylolpropane (CAS No. 147256-33-5) to freshwater algae is available. The key study was performed under static conditions according to OECD guideline 201 using Desmodesmus subspicatus as test organism (Caduff, 2012); however, the study was not performed under GLP. A 100 mg/L loading rate WAF was tested over a test period of 72 h in a limit test. No test substance monitoring was performed. Based on growth rate the 72 h-EL50 was determined to be > 100 mg/L (nominal) and the 72 h-NOELR was determined to be ≥ 100 mg/L (nominal) In conclusion, no effects on algal growth of Fatty acids, C18-unsatd., dimers, mixed esters with oleic acid and trimethylolpropane were observed up to the water solubility limit.
