Conclusion on classification

The environmental classification of the test substance is currently not harmonized according to the CLP Regulation (EC) 1272/2008.


Based on available acute toxicity data, the lowest valid effect concentration for freshwater aquatic organisms is 7.9 mg/L (72-h ErC50 value for the algae P. subcapitata). Based on the available acute data the substance should not be classified for acute toxicity following Annex I of the CLP regulation.


Chronic toxicity data is available for two trophic levels (algae and aquatic invertebrates). In the algal growth inhibition study, the 72h-NOEC for algae was determined to be 1.2 mg/L. Based on the read-across from the analogue substance 3-aminopropyldimethylamine, the 22d-NOEC for daphnia was determined to be 3.64 mg/L. Additionally, the substance is determined to be readily biodegradable and it's log Kow = 0.214. Following Annex I of the CLP regulation, the substance should not be classified for chronic toxicity either.
