Description of key information

MEXORYL SBF can be considered as a hydrolytically stable compound and its t1/2 at +25°C was considered to be greater than 1 year.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Half-life for hydrolysis:
1 yr
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

A study performed according to E.U. Method C.7 ("Abiotic degradation: hydrolysis as a function of pH), showed that at pH 4.0, 7.0 and 9.0 and at 50°C, no hydrolysis of the substance occurs. Therefore, Mexoryl SBF is considered as a hydrolytically stable compound and its t1/2 at 25°C is considered to be greater than 1 year.
