Description of key information
The partition coefficient of the MEXORYL SBF was estimated to be Pow < 0.00847 and log Pow < -2.07 at room temperature (Temperature and pH not reported). This estimation was in good agreement with the estimation of Kowwin (v1.67) program (logPow=-2.32)

The estimation of the partition coefficient of MEXORYL SBF was based on the individual solubilities of the test item in n-octanol and water.
The water solubility of Mexoryl SBF was previously found to be > 590 g/L (see endpoint 4.8 Water solubility) and the solubility in n-octanol is determined visually to be < 5 g/L. Therefore, the partition coefficient of the substance was estimated to be Pow < 0.00847 and log Pow < -2.07 at room temperature (temperature and pH not reported). This estimation was in good agreement with the estimation of Kowwin (v1.67) program (log Pow = -2.32). Regarding the log Pow range, the shake-flask method was not applicable and the test was considered to be complete.
The study was considered reliable with restriction because pH and temperature were not reported in the study report. This value was retained as key data for purpose of CSA.
