Additional information

Two short-term toxicity studies of CHIMEXANE NV are available. Both studies were performed on Danio rerio under semi-static conditions. Peither (2004) determined the 96h-LC50 to 1.02 mg/L (95% CI: 0.48 -2.2 mg/L, based on mortality) calculated by geometric mean of measured concentrations. The use of this study as key study is restricted since validation of analytical method was not carried out using the same vehicle as the one used for preparation of test solution. L'Haridon (2003) reported a 96h-LC50 of 1.61 mg/L (95% IC: 1.32 -3.01 mg/L, based on mortality ) and a 96h-NOEC of 1.0 mg/L based on mortality calculated by geometric mean of measured concentration. No deviation was noticed in the latter. The study of L'Haridon (2003) was determined as key study for short-term toxicity to fish.
