Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The key value for boiling point of the substance is 364.62°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
364.62 °C

Additional information

Decomposition of the registered substance was suspected during the experimental determination of boiling point due to colour change during the test. In addition, under the test conditions, the minimum value of the boiling temperature range was found to be (106.5°C, 379.7 K) while the boiling point of the substance is expected to be above 229°C (boiling point of dodecanol).

Thus, the measure of the true initial boiling point of the substance is considered as difficult and the experimental study was considered as unreliable.

QSAR predictions using MPBPWIN, US EPA TEST, NICEATM and ACD/Labs provide indication on boiling point of the main constituents / impurity of the substance.

Considering QSARs estimations an initial boiling point of 364.62°C was retained as key value for chemical safety assessment.
