The 48 hour EC50 value of Lakeland ACP 70
to Daphnia magna was estimated as 1.2 mg/L. The highest no-observed
effect concentration (HNEC) after 48 hours was 0.60 mg/I. The lowest
test concentration which immobilised all twenty Daphnia (LOEC) within 48
hours was 2.5 mg/I. Water quality measurements of the test solutions
were within acceptable limits. None of the twenty control Daphnia,
maintained in dilution water, was immobilised during the study and this
indicates an acceptable level of health of the test organisms cultured
under the test conditions.
A sample of ACP 70 was assessed for
potential toxicity to the marine copepod Acartia tonsa in a static test
over 48 hours according to the draft method ISO 14669: 1999(E). Nominal
test concentrations of ACP 70 were prepared over the range 0.10 mg 1-1
to 1.0 mg/L. Acartia tansa were exposed to the test concentrations in
order to determine the concentration which killed 50% of the copepods
over 48 hours (LCSO). Results were reported as LC50 (48 h) 1.0 mg/L and
the NOEC value was reported as 0.1 mg/L.
Results are available for one species of
freshwater invertebrate and one species of marine invertebrate.
