Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Interpretation of results

This test method measures the response of a sample to heat and flame under controlled

laboratory conditions. lt is only one of a number of properties that must be considered when

assessing the overall flammability hazard of a sample.

An abnormally low flash point in a relatively non-volatile or non-flammable material is a good

indication of contamination of the sample by highly volatile and flammable materials.

The test regulation ASTM D93 is acceptable for the Classification of flammable liquids

(Class 3) under the UN Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations & the Globally

Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS).

Interpretation of results:
Category 4 (combustible liquids) based on GHS criteria

Description of key information

The flash point of the substance is determined to be 76 °C at 101.4 kPa.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
76 °C

Additional information

A GLP study was conducted according to Regulation (EC) No 440/2008, Annex A.9. The BASF GLP study no. SIK 15/1136 determined the flash point to be 76 °C at 101.4 kPa.

The following classification criteria are met: Category 4 (flammable liquids and vapour) of UN GHS: flash point >= 60 °C and <= 93 °C
