Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Koc = 2.53 (KOCWIN v. 2.00, based on log Kow of -1.13)
Koc = 3.71 (KOCWIN v. 2.00, based on MCI of 2.8)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

There is no experimental result available on geoaccumulation. The distribution between the organic phase of soil or sediment solids and porewater can be calculated by QSAR. Koc values of 2.53 (based on log Kow) and 3.71 (based on MCI) were calculated using KOCWIN v.2.00 which is part of EpiSuite v.4.00 (Lanxess, 2010). These Koc values indicate a very low sorption potential of dimethyl phosphonate to soil organic matter according to the criteria of Litz (1990). For monomethyl phosphonate and methanol Koc values of 2.35 and 1.22 were calculated respectively, indicating also a very low geoaccumulation potential for the degradation products (Lanxess, 2010).
