After exposure to soil, significant adsorption to solid soil phase (e.g. clay) is not expected.

The logKoc was measured using the HPLC technique as described in OECD guideline 121. The logKoc was caluclated to be <1.25 (BASF 1999). In order to specify these results a supportive model calculation was performed. As calculated using SRC KOCWIN v2.00, the Koc of delta-valerolactone is 11.8 (corrected log Koc = 1.07) (BASF 2010).
